the day i stopped spending hours making videos
It started with a sinking feeling.
I had opened my laptop that morning with every intention of filming three short videos for my side project. I had the ideas scribbled down, the camera ready, and even my coffee perfectly frothed (because, priorities).
But when I glanced at the clock and realized how long it would take to write the scripts, find visuals, edit clips, add music, and then actually upload them… my enthusiasm quietly packed a bag and left.
This wasn’t new. I’d been caught in that same time sink for months — spending more time producing than actually creating. I kept thinking, There has to be a faster way to do this without the quality tanking.
That’s when I stumbled across something called AutoShorts.ai.
Letting AI Take the Heavy Lifting
At first, I was skeptical. The pitch was bold:
Type in your topic, and AutoShorts.ai will generate the script, select the visuals, add background music, edit everything together, and even publish it.
It sounded like the kind of promise you hear at 2 a.m. in a flashy ad before rolling your eyes and scrolling on. But curiosity won. I signed up and decided to test it on a topic I’d been avoiding because it felt like too much work: “Five Unusual Facts About Space.”
I typed that into the prompt, submitted and waited.
In less than five minutes, I had a fully edited short video. It had crisp captions, perfectly timed cuts, royalty-free background music, and visuals I would’ve spent hours digging up myself. And here’s the kicker — it looked good.
What Changed After That
The biggest shift wasn’t just the time I saved (although going from three hours per video to under ten minutes felt like a superpower). It was the mental space it freed up.
Before, I was juggling scripting, editing, and uploading across multiple social media accounts. Now? I just brainstorm ideas, feed them into AutoShorts.ai, and let it handle the heavy lifting. I’ve even been able to grow a second faceless channel without burning out — something I wouldn’t have even considered a year ago.
And because it can automatically publish to YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and other platforms, I’m not stuck in that endless cycle of downloading, reformatting, and re-uploading.
Why I’m Sticking With It
Every time I sit down to make content now, I know I can actually finish something without sacrificing my evenings or weekends.
If you’re a creator who’s drowning in the busywork of making short-form content, I’d say give Autoshorts.ai a try. Even if you’re skeptical (I was), give it a shot and see how much lighter your workload feels.
